1 July marks the start of the 2018 tax season!
Keep your eyes on your calendar! The 2018 tax season runs from 1 July 2018 to 31 October 2018.
However, don’t get this confused with your financial year dates. In other words, you are lodging your 2018 tax return from the statements you received from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018.
Read on to find out how you can lodge your tax return, at your convenience.
Here’s what you need.
First, you’re required to have all your income statements such as your PAYG summaries or Centrelink Summaries. If you don’t have your income statements, you can obtain your payment summaries in two ways.
- Contact your previous employer for copies of your income statements.
- Request a letter stating your income and withholding from your employer.
Let’s say neither of those options work. If that’s the case, you can lodge your tax return without your payment summaries by estimating your gross pay and withholding.
Lodge within the comfort of your own home.
Did you know that you could avoid the hassle of traveling to a tax accountant? That being said, you can lodge your tax return right from the comfort of your bed. Lodge with E-Lodge this tax season by following these simple steps.
- Create an account.
- Select your tax year from the drop-down menu to create a username and password.
- Enter your tax information.
- Submit your tax return.
You can even schedule a 15-minute personal phone consultation with one of our tax professionals to review your tax return to notify you of any red flags that may increase your risk of an ATO audit. Regardless, we will contact you directly on your message board if we notice any errors.
Lodge easy and get your refund, faster.
E-lodge offers you a Fee From Refund option which not only allows you to lodge right away, but you can also pay later. This means that our tax preparation fees will be deducted directly from your refund.
